Roman Yampolskiy
Associate Professor, University of Louisville

Roman V. Yampolskiy (Russian: Роман Владимирович Ямпольский) (born August 13, 1979) is a Latvian born computer scientist at the University of Louisville, known for his work on behavioral biometrics, security of cyberworlds, and artificial intelligence safety. He holds a PhD from the University at Buffalo (2008). He is currently the director of Cyber Security Laboratory in the department of Computer Engineering and Computer Science at the Speed School of Engineering.

Anthony Gadient

Jean Turgeon

Jean Turgeon (JT) is vice president and Chief Technologist of Software Defined Architecture within the Worldwide Sales organization at Avaya. JT joined Avaya in 2009 through its acquisition of Nortel’s Enterprise assets, and played a pivotal role in integrating the Nortel Networking business, team and products into the Avaya portfolio. In his current role, JT is responsible for driving and delivering the strategy for Software Defined Architecture, and accelerating adoption of vertical industry solutions in the Enterprise and Midmarket across UC, CC and Networking.

At BT, IBM, HP, successful startups and university projects, he led innovation teams using artificial intelligence, data science, machine learning, social/mobile/IoT technology in health and medicine.

Prashant Kumar

This encompasses development of a data driven ecosystem leading to an unified content exposure strategy for customers across all touch points. It lets Flipkart create the most relevant content for each of the customers, with seamless scaling and allows for cross channel global optimisation, fuelled by machine learning across the technology stack.

Prior to that, he led Engineering and IT for Customer Experience (CX) at Flipkart.com. He has led development of customer and agent facing engineering ecosystems to effectively handle agent center(s) with 5000+ people, serving over 120,000 customer contacts/day. It involved creation of a technology fuelled multi channel strategy driven by AI and distributed computing to ensure CX team is able to support and drive the multi folded growth Flipkart.com has achieved, year after year in online retail.

Carl Boutet
Retail Strategist

Carl is a retail strategist with over 20 years of operational, marketing and merchandising experience. He has worked across a full array of retailer environments from the very large, such as 10 years with Costco Wholesale to working as a strategy consultant for a group of 800 independent retailers across Canada. His focus is on bridging the physical/digital divide or what he calls the intersection of algorithms and outcomes. He holds an MBA from Queen’s University and advices on several retail innovation labs.

Toby Walsh

Toby Walsh is Reseach GroToby Walsh is Reseach Group Leader at NICTA. He is adjunct Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of New South Wales, external Professor of the Department of Information Science at Uppsala University and an honorary fellow of the School of Informatics at Edinburgh University. He has been Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Artificial Intelligence Research, and of AI Communications.

Jonathan Gazdak

Bob Beachler

His background includes more than 16 years of experience in a variety of engineering and marketing roles at Altera Corporation, a leading provider of Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) products, which was acquired by Intel Corporation in 2015 for over $16 billion. He has also served as Vice-President of Marketing, Operations, and Systems Design at Stretch Inc., a provider of embedded video processing solutions, up until its acquisition by Exar Corporation in 2014. While at Exar, Mr. Beachler was appointed Vice-President of Corporate Marketing and Business Development. Alex Glinka

Alex leads the strategic innovation division at Sears Canada and Initium Commerce Lab. Since joining in 2016, he built new discipline teams for prototype development, data science, and business model innovation.

Prior to joining Sears Canada, Alex led creative technology and R&D teams at Isobar and FCB working with brands such as LEGO, Mondelez, and HBC. In his teens, he had his first taste of launching a startup. While not quite a unicorn, this experience shaped his career. In 2004 he was instrumental to the founding of Medworxx, which exited in 2015. That year he cofounded LifeNode, a hackathon finalist spinoff.

Shai Berger

Before co-founding Fonolo, Shai was at Keynote Systems (NASDAQ: KEYN), where he led the team responsible for Streaming Perspective, the industry standard for streaming performance measurement.

Shai led the Streamcheck team as co-founder and CEO until its acquisition by Keynote. By selling hosted services to companies like Microsoft, AOL, Akamai, Viacom and BBC, he got the company to profitability while defying the high-tech slump of 2001. Along the way, Streamcheck established the industry standard for measuring streaming media, used to this day by Microsoft to certify its hosting partners.
